Chapter 15
Purushottamyoga
‘This tree like world is like an upside down banyan tree. Its imperishable seed and roots are ‘urdhva’, meaning upwards and the expansion is ‘adhah’, meaning downwards’. The sages have described the world like Ashvattha tree, which is the tree that lasts forever, as indestructible, having the upward roots of the Brahmin religion born from the seed-form of the human creation, Mahadev / Adam, having the downward-facing branches of the numerous religions of downwards facing Brahma and whose leaves are the (desiring) Vedas etc. The one who knows it is the knower of the Vedas.
